Technical constraints to plan for
Game strings often contain variables, tags and strict character limits. French usually expands from English, making narrow buttons and compact interfaces particularly sensitive. Plural forms, grammatical gender and word order can also make a string impossible to translate well when it is fragmented or supplied without context.
